Higher limits than the state’s minimum amounts are best to carry if it is financially available to your daughter. For instance the insurance industry recommends the limits for BI be at $100,000 per individual and $300,000 per accident. If your daughter is going to college and working she may not yet have the funds to raise the limits, nor have assets that he would need to protect with the higher limits. It is something she could talk about with an insurance agent in Connecticut.
Beyond the coverages, if her vehicle is financed he will likely be required to also have collision and comprehensive on the car. If her car is not financed she may still want to consider these types of physical damage coverages so that her vehicle is protected.
